Certified patroller
The NSP provides a Certified Program designed to elevate patrollers’ training and expertise. This national initiative serves as both an education and skill verification platform, ensuring a pool of highly motivated, skilled, and knowledgeable patrollers. By attaining certification, patrollers become a recognizable resource, enhancing their ability to serve the NSP, ski area management, and the outdoor recreation community. Attaining the Certified level represents the pinnacle of achievement for alpine patrollers.
Senior Patroller
The Senior Program, a certification offered by NSP, empowers patrollers to enhance their training and leadership skills through a combination of core and elective requirements tailored for alpine, Nordic, and other patrollers, each discipline having its specific variations. Beginning with a focus on refining OEC skills, Senior candidate patrollers progress to advanced training in scene and care management, strengthening their leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
